Actually networking ia about grouping. If we say that it is for connectivity, in
PC we had already MAC address that can be use for connectivity or communication.
Beside that, we has also bluetooth or infra red and so on.
With that, IP is about how we make a group in a network and make them connect to
the right and allowed nodes only. So, it is a heart of networking especially
when we are in Internet world which is based on TCP/IP protocol.
